Tis the season to be jolly once again, and wallets are emptied and boxes of joy brought home as gamers everywhere bust out the Type 7 Particle weapons, lightsabers, gatling guns and tights (yes, tights) for yet another great haul of games. This year though, we throw in a new category just to confuzzle you... expansion packs! Seriously though, if you stop to think about it, expansions can make the perfect holiday gifts - especially if you know someone who is already really into a particular game but hasn't gotten the expansion pack yet. Yes, while they are oftentimes horrendous and lack-luster attempts by publishers who love your green, the very best expansions broaden and improve upon the original game so much so that one would wonder how they could have done without it in the first place! Even better, for the more 'economically pragmatic' people out there, expansion packs usually cost less than a full-blown game would. Note that most expansions packs will require the original game to work however.
We hope that this guide will help you out with what we all know to be the true nightmare before Christmas - the last-minute shopping. So browse on!
