I call this case "The Ice Cube", when I started the mod it was to show off the VIA EPIA-800 Mini-ITX motherboard but when I came to finishing the mod it looks like a 10lb ice cube so that's where the name came from. Parts used in the MOD: IA EPIA-800 Mini-ITX Motherboard, EL Wire, Icebero Chipset Cooler, Fans & Grills, DVD Drive, Hard Drive, Power Supply, LED's, Plexiglas & Glue, Switches.
This is what a nasty cold, too much cough medicine and a spare computer case can cause! Currently houses an AMD K62 350 with 256 meg Ram, 20 gig HD, SoundBlaster Live, and a few other bits and pieces. This Case will be used to DJ dances at the school where I am currently employed as a computer Teacher. The Students love the case and keep asking me if I would sell it.. Well of course I would!!!
Self cut Window kit ( just glued the acrylic to the back of the side cover ) Mirrored Acrylic next to motherboard and on bottom of case to help reflect Neon light. Neon light behind grill on front with controls mounted inside case. Purple split loom on wiring. Used ribbed silver wallpaper material to cover drive bays. Painted with Purple/green Mirage paint ( found that you really need to put on a good base coat to get the color change to work the best, although considering this is my first case mod, and first computer I've built...I'll accept a few defects ) Still trying to figure out something to trim the sheetmetal opening that won't look cheesy.
