The Ramixian II, first mod attempt, looks decent enought, high gloss black, which explains the flash and non-top quality pix, all chrome accessories, from window siding to power and rest switch, bright blue power LED, and bright red HDD LED. 2 bright blue LEDs in the air holes on the front botom (hard to see because of flash), Red Evil Inside Case Badge, Enermax dual temp read out. It's a T-Bird 1.2 AXIA 100/200 FSB chip on an ABIT KT7-RAID cooled by a FOP-38 with Artic Silver II, 2 IBM Deskstar 75GXP in RAID 0 striping, SBLive! (soon to be Platinum), 10/100 NIC card, Asus V7700 GF2 GTS 64MB DDR w/TV-out, 52x CD, 8x8x24 CDR Yamaha, all runing at stock speed for now. Plus tons of window, EPA, and other mods.
I painted case black half year ago and last week I thought it was bored so I decided to give it a (small) modification. Since I'm from Holland I decided it must be orange ;) After painting the two stripes weren't completly straight so I went to car sticker company and got some with adhesive plastic normally used on cars. Cut some 0.5cm strokes of it and pasted along the orange. Result is some Seventys look. Rest of plastic I used to cut my nickname out.
The case is an "SX1030 - SX1040 SOHO File Server" with great features like 4 fans or screwless openable doors and removable HDD-boxes.
At first, I kicked away the grey paint, so that you can see the metal under it, than cut the window kit and holes on the top. After that I made the blue-metallic paintwork and the front and sides, and added the AMD logo on the right side. This logo is rusted into the metal and than sprayed over with transparent paint, like all pieces. The lamp is a 230V 11W energy-saver-lamp, which is painted with window-color, and so is cheaper than the neon ones and gives much brighter light. It is turned on by a 12V-relays.
This is my first mod, I'm quite satisfied with the result, but what happend to my money?? :) This is a superfast 450mhz P2 @ 400 hehe... don't ask.. with a the red tunder neon it looks especially cool at night. The collurs of style; red & black. I'm gonna buy a digital doc, if I ever get the money :)
PIII 800 @ 930 (155x6.0) cooled with Artic Silver II and GORB, 512MB Kingmax TinyBGA PC150, Abit VH6-II, I can go on and on and on. Custom-cut CNC design backed with plexiglas, 2 10inch blue neon lights, sanded with different grades of sandpaper to give a "brushed stainless steel" look, custom paing job, blue LEDs on front of case, and lotsa cooling! If you have any questions or want some pics, just email me!
This machine was built "virtually" with lots of help from some very special members of the Virtual Dr support forum in General Hardware. I knew absolutely nothing. The consensus was to NOT BUY...."BUILD", they all said. "It's easier than you think." So a thread was started called Operation Delta, to help people like me who had no idea where to start. Componants were decided upon thru much research and the experience of the members. I built it from my end of the net. Fired it up right there on the forum. Born on Feb 7, 2001. We did it ! Excellent machine. I'm purdy proud of it. The stained glass Hummer was chosen because of the birds' speed and agility. Pentium III 866Mhz O/C to 904Mhz...hey now!...it qualifies :~), Abit BX133 RAID, Hercules 32MB Prophet II, 20 gig WD.
Some pictures of my watercooled system. Circa 3 Liter of fresh water cools the CPU (a Duron 700@1000 at max 39°C) Ok, the Case is heavy but very silent :)
