This is my first attempt and modding, I have installed a Dreamcast inside my PC, that is the thing on the top that you see, and I found a VGA converter so I can play it on my monitor. System Specs: P3 800 @ 950, 128MB 133, ASUS CUV4X, 64MB DDR Prophet, SB Live MP3+, Antec SX1030B.
This is an old zentih data systems zfl-181-93 laptop with an 80c88 8mhz processor, 640k ram, no hdd, 2 720k floppy disks, the only mod is the paint job, but it looks much better than the old beige color.
Apex Supercase, Abit BP-6 with twin 500's@600, Radeon VIVO 64DDR w/ Blorb, SB Live!, Swappable HD (Win2000&Win98) NewQ Gold DSP, Gonna add more fans and more leds and paint. Work in Progress. Gotta Blorb for the 440BX too.
When I upgraded my PC to a Duron, I planned to trash my old Celeron in the bin. And there it went - and it went GOOD! It became what I call "Oscar's Revenge". Though it is only a Celeron 466@525 on an Asus P3B-F with 128MB, nVIDIA, SB16, vertical(!) mounted 12 GB HD, LS drive and Teac cd-rom, it is quite an eyecatcher on LAN-Parties. Things to come are more fans, some kind of painting (green?) and lots of LEDs.
3 coats of Satin Black, 2 coats of Clear Coat, dual 80mm blowhole fans, single side fan, generic case that had potential, 1 giga Athlon with FOP32-I, Hercules Game Theater XP, Voodoo3, 3Com 10/100, Intel Pro 100 Management, WinTV, 20 gig WD, 13 gig Maxtor, 50x Asus CD, Philips series400 CDRW, on a Abit KT7a mobo = one bad Starsiege : Tribes machine.
Old Scanner + P166 w/64 mb RAM = Scanner MP3 Entertainment BOX! I had spare parts laying around and I wanted to have an mp3 box in my living room so I made this cool case out of an old scanner that Pimplicant gave me. It is a P166 with 64megs of RAM, 8meg ATI tv-out video card, 3com NIC and 4.3 gig hard drive. This is used to play mp3s, reached an uptime of 49 days (too bad it was running unpatched version of WIndows 98 so it locked up). There are many more things to be done, including LED's, reset button, build in speakers and more plexi glass.....
An old AT case modefied to ATX,3 PSU one for MB and one for fans and one for peltiers when I have watercoling MB is Abit KT7 no raid but promise fasttrack100 raid and 2 samsung HD 10Gb CPU is Duron 700 and it can do 1030Mhz aircoled The switches for fans are 12volt-off-7volt,voltmeter for PSU 2 and also have biossavier. The front door opens with a switch on the cardreader.Temps are for GPU,CPU and HD's.Coling for now is PEP66 with 80mm fan and a 60mm on other end of heatsink. And MB is on the wrong side of case as you can see.
My first mod, it's a playstation controller/memory port bezel mod. I'm following the specs at http://www.gamesx.com/mccap/ I'm using a 1k potentiometer and voltage regulator to get 3.6 volts that the unit needs (instead of trying to step it down with a led) I'll post a how-to on my site when I'm done.
Here is my little baby ;-) It is a Intel Pentium III 550 @ 605Mhz - 2.05V, ASUS P3B-F, 128 MB SD PC 100, Asus AGP V7700 Deluxe TV GeForce2 GTP 32 MB, Yamaha 6x 4x 16x SCSI, Optiquest Q71 - 17", IBM deskstar 8.4 GB, Quantum Fireball 1.2 GB, Soundblaster 64 PCI, D-Link 10/100 M/Bit - with remote leds, Logitech Optical MouseMan Wheel USB, Microsoft SideWinder FF Wheel, AOpen HX45.
